Independent Auto-Retracting Hotends
When the auto-lift nozzle is not extruding material it retracts upwards, eliminating the potential for the idle nozzle to drag across the surface of the print. Usually, the idle nozzle runs the risk of scraping against the print which at best will lessen the stability of the print and the appearance of the surface and at worst cause the print to fail entirely.
In addition to the standard materials like ABS and PLA, our printer can print Nylon, Tglasse, HIPS, PVA, TPE, Laywood3D, and carbon fiber.
Physically breaking away support material can be a laborious and tedious task. The process leaves a rough surface and the process is prone to breaking away features you want to keep. With the dual material capabilities of the LATHON it is possible to print with dissolvable support material like HIPS (dissolves in D-Limonene) or PVA (dissolves in water). Dissolvable support material solves this problem by enabling you to print, soak, and enjoy.
With the ability to print in different materials it is possible to print overmolded prototypes. In the product development market overmolds are a common practice but up until now the ability to have in house rapid prototyping capabilities were limited. Overmolds give the user two completely different tactile feelings. This makes the capabilities of the LATHON 3D Printer not only interesting but extremely practical.
Large Enclosed Build Volume
Our enclosure helps to stabilize the temperature of the print, which creates an ideal environment for the printer. Keeping the temperature constant and having a longer cool down time makes the print stronger and the surface finer. Printing at a large size is also better for professional applications, like printing prototypes at actual size rather than to scale, as well as for making beautiful original pieces from your 3D modeled artwork.
Its size makes it more capable and more convenient. Some models that usually have to be printed in cut parts - for instance, this Ironman mask below - can be printed at full size on our bed, eliminating the extra time needed to configure prints, operate the printer, and combine and polish the finished pieces.
Cloud Slicing and Customer Support
Preparing has never been so easy. Your LATHON will be connected to Print To Peer, a simple cloud slicing application that will take your model, prepare it for printing, and send it straight to your printer.
